To the editor, On Nov. 6, residents of the Delavan-Darien School District again will vote on allowing our district to exceed the state-imposed limit on taxes for our schools. I believe a yes vote is essential for our community.
To the editor, What a difference eight years of Republican leadership make. In 2010 with Democrat “leadership,” our state was running a $3.8 billion budget deficit. Wisconsin is now running budget surpluses.
To the editor, I have been talking with state legislators about an issue near and dear to my heart — the Deployed Parents Custody and Visitation Act. This law, if enacted, would conform Wisconsin law to the Uniform Law Commission model as it relates to placement of children when a parent or guardian is called to active military duty. Specifically, the law would allow a court to grant caretaking authority to a non-parent, such as a stepparent, grandparent, sibling, aunt, uncle or cousin if the court determines that is in the best interest of the child.
To the editor, The Brett Kavanaugh firestorm isn’t about the extracurricular activities of a 17-year-old. It’s about destroying an innocent man and his family out of frustration by the left because they can’t get their own way by bullying, coercing and making victims out of anyone willing to play the part. It’s also about hatred for President Donald Trump, his supporters and anyone who won’t conform to their insane behavior —including moderate Democrats.
