Start the day with breakfast on the farm

The Rock County Dairy Breakfast returns to Den-Bar Dairy near Janesville on Saturday, June 9.
The Tuesday hike report by Jake Gerlach: On a beautiful 70-degree spring day, it was a bit disappointing that only 10 hikers showed up. I suggested that we drive to Oleson Cabin and hike to Confusion Point on the Ice Age Trail and come back on the horse/snowmobile trail. This time of spring there are a lot of flowers in bloom. I saw yellow wood violets, lots of anemone, regular violets and Jack–in-the-pulpit to just name a few. The most common was garlic mustard, which has little white flowers and is very invasive.
The Southern Wisconsin Dulcimer Club Festival features a free jam from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Voigt Music Center, 34 S. Main St., Janesville.
