BELOIT -- One of the four men accused in the shooting death a year ago of 5-year-old Austin Ramos Jr., says he has an alibi.
Sergio Ortiz-Raygoza’s attorney claims that his client was in Iowa at the time of the shooting, and that witnesses can corroborate, according to WCLO.
Ortiz’s trial has been postponed until the middle of July.
Ramos Jr. was shot and killed about 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 22, near the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Shopiere Road in Beloit.
Ramos was a passenger in a car driven by his father, Austin Ramos Sr., when another vehicle pulled alongside and opened fire. Ramos was shot in the abdomen and died a short time later at Beloit Memorial Hospital of "firearm-related trauma," according to the Rock County medical examiner’s office during that time.
Four suspects, Sergio Ortiz-Raygoza, 23; Eric Salazar-Mota, 21; Issac W. Torres, 24; and Hugo Martinez, 18, were charged with first-degree intentional homicide. The four suspects have since pleaded not guilty.

UPDATE -- Jan. 29, 2016. Beloit police today announced the arrest of Hugo Martinez, 18, in connection with the shooting death Jan. 22, 2016 of 5-year-old Austin Ramos Jr.
Martinez had been identified as a fourth person of interest in Ramos Jr.'s death.
Eric Salazar-Mota and Sergio Ortiz-Raygoza are currently are wanted and police say the face charges of homicide party to a crime.
A fourth man, Isaac W. Torres, was picked up by authorities in McHenry County, Illinois on an unrelated warrant of substantial battery. He is being returned to Rock County.

A gunman pulled alongside the car Austin's father was driving and opened fire, striking Austin in the abdomen while he sat strapped into his car seat.
STATELINE NEWS -- A five-year-old Beloit boy was shot and killed about 7:10 p.m. tonight near the intersection of Prairie Avenue and Shopiere Road in Beloit.
The child was in the back seat of a car driven by his father when a gunman pulled up alongside and opened fire, according to interim Police Chief Dave Zibolski.
The father was uninjured and is assisting with the investigation.
The suspect vehicle is described as a maroon SUV.
Police are asking residents with any information on the shooting to contact police.
