BELOIT -- Beloit officials want to fire their two top police leaders, but both men have vowed to fight what they call politically motivated charges.
The final decision on the fate of Chief Norm Jacobs and Deputy Chief Tom Dunkin, who were placed on administrative leave June 16 by City Manager Lori Curtis Luther, lies with the six-member Beloit Police and Fire Commission.

Feb. 24, 2015: City council hires consultant to study police department management
June 3, 2015: Lori Curtis Luther takes over as Beloit city manager from Larry Arft, who retired.
June 16, 2015: Police Chief Norm Jacobs and Deputy Chief Tom Dunkin placed on administrative leave.
Oct. 8, 2015: Jacobs and Dunkin notified Luther will seek to have them removed.
Oct. 13, 2015: Luther announces allegations to be forwarded to the Beloit Police and Fire Commission
Oct. 26, 2015: First scheduled meeting of the Beloit Police and Fire Commission.
