Walworth County K-9 Unit gets new team

ELKHORN—The Walworth County Sheriff’s Office’s newest K-9 team  is Walworth County Deputy Josh Adams and his canine partner, Klaas, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Adams and Klass recently completed a comprehensive 260 hour course and are now working the streets of Walworth County. They were trained in the areas of obedience, apprehension work, drug detection, tracking, and K-9 case law. During the training the team was certified in drug detection by K-9 Services of Albuquerque, New Mexico and will attend patrol certification this fall, according to the release.

Janesville man dies in crash in Darien

DARIEN--A Janesville man died Saturday when his car hit a semi-tractor on highways 11 and 14, just west of Wisconsin Highway 89 in the town of Darien, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Ryan Andrew Phetteplace, 46, was pronounced dead on the scene by the Walworth County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Deputies received a report of a semi versus car head-on crash at 3:56 p.m. on July 29.

DATCP warns consumers of phone number spoof

The Wisconsin Consumer Protection Hotline phone number is being “spoofed.”

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection has received a number of reports from consumers stating they received a call from the Consumer Protection Hotline today as our 800 number appeared on their caller ID, according to a release from the DATCP.

TOWN OF LAFAYETTE—Walworth County sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel revived a heroin overdose victim Friday, July 21, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and members of the East Troy and Mukwonago rescue units received a call at 11:53 p.m. July 21 for the report of a heroin overdose at a residence on County Highway D in the town of LaFayette.

According to the release, a dispatcher at the Walworth County Communications Division gave directions to the caller to start CPR on the victim, described in the release as a 20-year-old female.

Nehlen to hold town hall in Delavan
