TOWN OF WALWORTH--Five people, including two children, were injured in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 14 and Stateline Road in the town of Walworth Thursday, according to a release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.
None of the injuries appeared to be life-threatening, although their conditions are not known at this time, according to the release.
The crash victims were not identified.
EAST TROY—An opening reception for Lake Geneva artist Pam Ring will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Michael Fields Agricultural Institute Gallery (in the big brown barn), W2493 County Highway ES, East Troy.
Ring’s exhibit, Sacred Autumn: The Art of Collage will be on exhibit at the MFAI Gallery through Dec. 13. The gallery is open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays and on weekends by appointment.
JANESVILLE--An Operation Kidsafe event will be held Saturday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Janesville Nissan, 2627 Morse St., Janesville.
Operation Kidsafe lets parents make a bio document of their child that they can hand to local police in case of an emergency. Safety tips to start a family safety action plan are also included.
The event is free. No special information is needed because there is no data basing. Parents take home the only record of the visit.
Members of the Walworth County Drug Enforcement Unit removed 200 plants from the site of an outdoor marijuana grow operation in an undisclosed location on Sept. 11, according to a release.
The site was not disclosed because the investigation is ongoing. Officials are still looking to track down the owner of the operation, the release noted.
With proper cultivation and harvesting, the plants had a potential street value of $500,000, according to the release.
The grow was discovered in August during an aerial surveillance mission in the northern townships of the county, the release said, noting evidence was located at the scene.
