JANESVILLE — Raven’s Wish Gallery in downtown Janesville is featuring a solo art exhibition by Heather Hansen of Janesville this month.
“Inspired by Nature” is a collection of wheel-thrown and hand-built clay works focused on elements from nature, including leaves, flowers and animals.

“Widely known for her intriguing entries for the Art in the Garden series at Rotary Botanical Gardens, Heather’s artwork evokes a sense of wonder and joy, with some whimsy tossed in for good measure,” according to a gallery news release.

“The most challenging piece in the show is the Lotus Flower Frog, with 72 handmade petals each attached individually,” Hansen said in the release. “Immensely time-consuming, it is probably the most symbolic of my struggles in bringing the exhibition to fruition.”

Functional and practical items such as platters, bowls, mugs and garden art also will be highlighted.

The exhibition is free and open to the public through Wednesday, Nov. 27. The gallery, 101 W. Milwaukee St., is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
