WHITEWATER — The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Theatre/Dance Department will present DanceScapes’19 from Saturday, March 16, through Tuesday, March 19, in the Barnett Theatre.
This year’s performances include works by student choreographers, faculty choreographers and guest choreographers Alfonso Cervera and Alessandra Williams, who also are Inclusive Excellence fellows. In all, 27 students will perform, along with three faculty members.
Each performance will feature nine dances: four faculty group pieces including Cervera and Williams, two solos (Cervera and Williams will alternate performances) and a solo by Barb Grubel.
In addition to these pieces by the faculty and guest artists, there will be student choreographers each night — Kayla Weidner’s “wait, waiting, waited” and Bailey Moberly’s “Conform.”
DanceScapes performances are at 2 p.m. March 16 and March 17 and at 7:30 p.m. March 18 and March 19. Tickets are available by calling 262-472-2222, going online to tickets.uww.edu or stopping by the Greenhill Center of the Arts box office, 950 W. Main St., Whitewater.
