ELKHORN — The humor of Steve Martin takes center stage in Elkhorn starting this week, as his comedy, “The Underpants,” opens Friday, Feb. 15, at the Sprague Theater.
The farce, which is recommended for adults, takes a look into the world of a couple whose lives are turned upside down by a wardrobe malfunction.
Here’s how the show sets up, according to a Lakeland Players news release: “When a respectable middle-class German couple in 1910 make their entrance, they have just come home from the king’s big parade. Mortified, Theo, her husband, swears to keep her home until she can find some less unruly undies.
“Amid this chaos he’s trying to rent a room in their flat. The prospective lodgers have some underlying surprises of their own ...”
The show is directed by Mary Hubbard Nugent of East Troy and produced by Christy Harteau of Elkhorn.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15, Feb. 16, Feb. 22 and Feb. 23; and at 3 p.m. Feb. 17 and Feb. 24 at 15 W. Walworth St.
