To the editor, What awaits American families in 2019? In Illinois, Gov.-elect J.B. Pritzker plans to rob poorly served Illinois children of their school vouchers, dooming them to continued trauma in school environments where little can be learned besides “watch your back!”

The cynical hypocrisy of one political party, which 10 years ago spoke convincingly of the need to secure our southern border, continues. Roofers, carpetlayers, landscape gardeners and other trades impacted by cheap illegal laborers are not the concern of Democrat politicians — their voting base is. If Dems can increase their base using Motor Voter, which facilitates voter registration of non-citizens, they will. Law-abiding Democrats must demand from their representatives that voting rolls be purged of noncitizens and the convenient (for pols) dead voter.

For the fifth straight year, Illinois’ population declined. A nonpartisan movement to establish a new state of Illinois, called “New Illinois,” was announced in Decatur in October. Look for a February or March event in northern Illinois. Find out more at facebook.com/NewIllinoisState/
