“An artist for more than 50 years, Dahlgran’s chosen medium is colored pencil which she uses to create life-like images and to tell stories,” according to a news release from the downtown Janesville gallery. “Pratt is a Williams Bay native whose poignant, manipulated photographs have a haunting, painterly quality.”
The exhibition is a year-long culmination of images depicting hats and shoes, and the stories told behind the scenes.
“Personal items such as hats and shoes tell intimate — but universal — stories. Everyone seems to relate to them,” Dahlgran said in the release.
The free exhibition will hang through Jan. 5 at the gallery, 101 W. Milwaukee St.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.
