Get your fill of food and fun at these area festivals

Written by  Staff Writer
JANESVILLE — Don’t feel like cooking on a summer weekend? There’s plenty of festival fun that will satisfy your hunger for food and recreation.

• Rotary Corn Roast and Mud Volleyball, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at Traxler Park, 600 N. Main St., Janesville.

Besides messy fun on the volleyball courts, the day includes live music, children’s activities, food vendors and — of course — plenty of sweet corn.

• Janesville Noon Lions Club Chicken Roast and Friends of Riverside Park Riverside Music Festival, Sunday, Aug. 19, in the park’s north pavilion, 2600 Riverside Drive, Janesville.

Besides the roasted chicken dinners — available from 11 a.m. until sold out — there will be a wine and beer tent, bounce house, shuffleboard, pickleball demonstrations and live music. The GoDeans play from 11:30a.m. to 2 p.m., with Rainbow Bridge taking the stage from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

• Milton Arts & Crafts on the Lawn and Chicken BBQ, Sunday, Aug. 19, on the grounds of the Milton House, 18 S. Janesville St., and North Goodrich Park, Milton.

Serving begins at 10 a.m. and goes until 2 p.m. or sold out. The arts and crafts show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Olivia Dvorak provides live music from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
