Clerk-treasurer’s office takes election responsibility seriously

Written by  Staff Writer

To the editor,
The city clerk-treasurer’s office is responsible for conducting elections in the city of Janesville.

This year there are three remaining scheduled elections. The spring general election will occur on April 3, the partisan primary will occur on Aug. 14 and the November general election will occur on Nov. 6.

In this country, one of our most sacred rights is the right to vote. The clerk-treasurer’s office works hard to ensure that every Janesville citizen who is eligible and wishes to vote can cast their ballot. My office staff and I will continue to work diligently to ensure our citizens are able to exercise their right to vote freely and fairly.

There are many resources to assist you in voting. Among the best is myvote.wi.gov, the state-run website that allows voters to register to vote, view sample ballots, request an absentee ballot and see their polling place.

Now is the time to ensure you are registered to vote. You can call the clerk-treasurer’s office to receive assistance with election-related questions at 608-755-3070.
