If we want our congressional representatives and our state legislators to work for us, we must insist on campaign finance reform. There are more lobbyists in Washington, D. C. than elected officials and the state Capitol is awash in those seeking favors. These elected officials will not do this on their own as there is too much money to be had by continuing things as they are. What we must do in this election year is to put party affiliation aside and not vote for anyone who will not promise to take the money out of politics and support legislation overturning the flawed Supreme Court ruling that gave us Citizens United.
Follow the money and you will find that those we send to Madison and Washington do not work for us.
