Tallman House is all aglow for Christmas

Written by  Staff Writer

JANESVILLE — From 12 drummers drumming to a partridge in a pear tree, each room of the Lincoln-Tallman House highlights one day of the classic Christmas song this holiday season.
Holiday tours run through Saturday, Dec. 30, at the historic mansion, 440 N. Jackson St.

While guests take in the beauty of the home decorated in its holiday best, they will discover the message hidden within the lyrics of “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Guests are invited to stroll through each room and view more than 20 trees creatively decorated by local businesses and individuals.

For the first time this year, evening tours allow guests to see the décor lit only by Christmas trees and gasoliers. The evening tours run from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursdays only, with the last tour starting at 8 p.m.

The home also is open for tours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday (last tour starts at 3 p.m.) and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday by appointment only.
