Democrats’ ‘Resist’ effort inspires violence

Written by  Staff Writer

To the editor,
The “Resist” slogan of the Democratic party has once again inspired violent attacks on Republicans and conservatives. Sen. Rand Paul, a noted conservative in Congress, was assaulted by his neighbor while mowing the lawn. There is no question this was a politically motivated attack.

According to the Washington Examiner, neighbor Rene Boucher’s attack resulted in six broken ribs. Further, “this man is aggressively anti-Trump and anti-GOP in his social media, calling for the impeachment of the president and urging Russia investigator Robert Mueller to ‘fry Trump’s gonads.’’’

Boucher was “resisting” and following his call to action. The Democratic party has declared to their members: “You are the resistance.” A short read of leftist NY magazine finds this quote, “Yes, the party needs more direct aggression and energy and left-populism.”

So much for liberalism being the ideology of peace and tolerance, huh?

These violent attacks from the left are frequent and out of control. U.S. Rep. Steve Scalise just left the hospital two months ago after being gunned down by a resisting Democrat. Writing this letter with my name on it brings me to an uncomfortable place! But someone needs to speak up about this.

Democrats need to stop the “Resist” movement before another leftist guns down more Republicans. This is a democracy, liberals. Win the next election with your better ideas and stop assaulting your fellow and diverse citizens. The encouragement of violent acts against your political opposites is un-American.

Let’s hope the “Resist” movement in Walworth County stays peaceful.
