DHS holds public hearing on drug-testing FoodShare recipients

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services will hold a public hearing on a proposed order to drug test  able-bodied adult participants in the FoodShare Employment and Training program.

The hearing will be held on Monday, Aug. 21, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brown County Library’s Central Library Auditorium, 515 Pine St., Green Bay.

The proposed rule is part of the policy amendments included in 2015 Wisconsin Act 55.

The hearing will be broadcasted live online (link is external). Due to the possibility of technical difficulties associated with a live broadcast, the full video of the hearing will be made available on the DHS website after the hearing.

Public comments will be accepted through August 28. Comments may be submitted through the following methods:

  • Going to the DHS website to view the options to submit comments for DHS 38 Drug Testing for Participants in the FoodShare Employment and Training Program who are Able-Bodied Adults 
  • Using the Wisconsin Legislature’s website (link is external)
