Deputies revive heroin victim in town of LaFayette

TOWN OF LAFAYETTE—Walworth County sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel revived a heroin overdose victim Friday, July 21, according to a news release from the Walworth County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies and members of the East Troy and Mukwonago rescue units received a call at 11:53 p.m. July 21 for the report of a heroin overdose at a residence on County Highway D in the town of LaFayette.

According to the release, a dispatcher at the Walworth County Communications Division gave directions to the caller to start CPR on the victim, described in the release as a 20-year-old female.

Deputies arrived at the home at 11:56 p.m. and found the woman unconscious and breathing shallowly.

Authorities were told by a witness the woman had recently used heroin.
After deputies administered two doses of Naloxone, the victim showed signs of improvement. She received additional treatment by rescue squad personnel.

The victim was alert and conscious before being transported by ambulance to an area hospital, where she is expected to make a full recovery, according to the release.
