Wisconsin Community Papers is a trade group that represents free community papers and shoppers throughout the state.
This year, Walworth County Sunday won second place for general excellence in the category that included papers with the most news content.
This is the seventh year in a row that a CSI Media newspaper has placed either first or second in the category.
CSI Media earned six advertising awards, including first place in the Create an Ad contest.
For the contest, ad designers use their own creative ideas to design a series of advertisements for a common advertiser.
CSI designer Katie Busateri’s ads won first place, and she received $100 for her efforts.

Four stories won awards in the news categories, including:
First place, Margaret Plevak, Walworth County Sunday, in the feature writing category for her story on shipwrecks and other curiosities at the bottom of Geneva Lake.
Second place, Margaret Plevak, Walworth County Sunday, in the feature writing category for her story on Delavan’s prominent role in circus history.
Second place, Todd Mishler, Janesville Messenger, in the sports writing category for his story on fathers who coach their high-school aged children.
Third place, Todd Mishler, Walworth County Sunday, in the sports writing category for his story on the quest for an Olympic sailing medal by East Troy’s Annie Haeger.
