STATELINE NEWS -- The annual Christmas Walk will be held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, in downtown Rockton.

Highlighted activities include the Candy Cane Craft Fair, which will be held from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Greater Community Center.

The Lighting of the Park will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Village Green Park and will include Christmas carolers and a visit from Santa.

The Lighted Christmas Parade will begin at 6 p.m. on Main Street and will feature floats decorated by area businesses and organizations.

"We get close to 50 applications a year from people that want to participate in the parade," Heinzeroth said.

The event also will include horse-drawn carriage rides and food trucks throughout the downtown area. Several downtown businesses will be open during the Christmas Walk.

"It’s my first year being involved, so I kind of don't know what to expect," Heinzeroth said. "It's a huge event in the area. It’s well attended by the community."
