Chick here to order reprints Hilltoppers' climb falls short MADISON — There would be no three-peat for the Hilltoppers of Burlington Catholic Central High School, who lost their bid for a third consecutive state football championship Nov. 18. Gilman High School defeated Catholic Central, 42-13, in the Division 7 title game at Camp Randall Stadium in Madison. Catholic Central would have been only the sixth team in state history to win a third straight championship, but Gilman piled up 438 yards of offense in its impressive victory. The Hilltoppers finished another memorable season with a 12-2 record.
