The ABC Supply Company Southern Wisconsin AirFEST today announced its 2009 events and entertainment lineup. The 8th Annual AirFEST will be held over May 29 – 31 weekend, and will feature 10 different main performing acts, highlighted this year by the world-famous Blue Angels, the U.S. Navy’s Flight Demonstration Squadron. Coming back for the first time since 2005, the Blue Angels’ 2009 AirFEST appearances will be only one of three Midwest performances this year. “We are proud and very excited that the Blue Angels have selected AirFEST again as a main demonstration site,” stated AirFEST Executive Director Tom Morgan. “It is a testament to the quality of our event that the Blue Angels will be performing at Southern Wisconsin Regional Airport again. I know kids of all ages will be delighted and thrilled with their expert aerobatic maneuvers.” Another featured act that will wow audiences at the 2009 AirFEST is the Golden Knights, the U.S. Army Parachute Team. Other entertainment acts scheduled this year include the Navy “Leapfrogs” Parachute Team, U.S. National Aerobatic Champion Patty Wagstaff, high performance ace pilot Greg Poe, the Guinness Book of Record-holder Shockwave Jet Truck, Rich’s Incredible Pyro simulated explosive show, local favorite Susan Dacy and Big Red, and others. AirFEST will also have many military and civilian aircraft displays and flight simulators as well as various exhibitors such as a Kids Zone Play Area on-site. New to AirFEST this year will be a special event called the Friday Night Takeoff Party, which starts at 6 PM on May 29th. The U.S. Navy Rock Band “Horizon” will be jamming out and the Golden Knights will be performing special nighttime parachuting acts. The Shockwave Jet Truck and other entertainment as well as special food and beverages will round out the party. The Takeoff Party will have special pricing and only cost a carload of guests $15 in advance and $20 at the gate.
