This is one of my favorite photos. I heard a call over the scanner of the fire and grabbed my camera and out the door I flew. No knowing what to expect I hung back and observed what was happening. I saw all the fire truck gathered at the front of the barn and the firemen rushing around.
It was a big barn and I knew it was going to be burning for awhile, so I had some time to get those shots later. But on the side of the barn was the pasture and I started to see the horses coming. I pulled over, jumped out with camera and ran along the fence line to get into position. Next I saw the horses quickly running from by the barn which is the shot you see. They ran on the far back pasture and up to where I was, but the shot was them coming from the barn, once they were next to me the impact and the feel was not the same.
