WALWORTH COUNTY SUNDAY -- The sound of music fills the air and the ears of festivalgoers every September at the East Troy Bluegrass Festival. The 22nd annual festival kicks off Saturday, Sept. 12, and continues through the weekend, with more fiddles, banjos and guitars than you can strum, pick or slide a bow across.
East Troy is the perfect setting for such an event, said Vanessa Lenz, executive director of the East Troy Area Chamber of Commerce.
JANESVILLE MESSENGER -- Larry Patnoe has made it an annual tradition to match up his chili recipe with cooks from throughout the country.
Patnoe of rural Janesville has been participating in Chilimania since the event began 26 years ago. He plans to compete again this year when the festival is held from 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday, Sept. 12, in downtown Edgerton.
STATELINE NEWS -- The 16th annual Old Farmin’ Days will be held Sept. 12 on the Ward family farm, 1171 Rockton Road, Caledonia, Illinois.
SOUTH BELOIT -- What once was a site of a Ho-Chunk village and then became a location for industrial development is being restored to a natural area.
