Beloit parade gets the holiday season rolling

BELOIT — Now in its 25th year, the Grand Lighted Holiday Parade, hosted by Downtown Beloit Association, continues to bring delight to families, children and kids at heart.

WALWORTH — Members of the Chicago Philharmonic Chamber Players will fill the night with the sounds of the 1960s and ’70s at a performance on Friday, Nov. 17. 

The Tuesday hike report by Jake Gerlach: I had been thinking of where I would like to hike when I arrived at the U.S. Highway 12 meeting place. When Ed came, he reminded me that the hikers were having a potluck. By tradition we always hike the white ski trail when we have a special hike with food.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 9; 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10; and 1:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 11.

The well-loved Rodgers & Hammerstein musical premiered in 1943.
