JANESVILLE -- Vice President Mike Pence met with business leaders in Janesville today as the administration continued to make the case against Obamacare and put pressure on Congress to pass a plan to repeal and replace.

Vice President Pence in Janesville Friday

JANESVILLE—Vice President Mike Pence is expected to be in Janesville, Wisconsin, Friday, March 3, 2017 for an appearance at Blain Supply, 3507 E. Racine Street, across from St. Mary’s Hospital.

The long-awaited Republican plan to replace the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare, could have its first committee hearing as soon as Wednesday of this coming week.

What should be known by early next week is if the plan also includes elimination of federal funds for Planned Parenthood.

That’s because independent filmmaker and 1992 Big Foot High School grad Joselito Seldera shot his first feature film, a crime thriller, in Walworth County, where he grew up.

"End of Fall" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 at Domenico’s and at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26, 2017 at the Hendricks Center for the Arts.

That sentiment aptly applies to University of Wisconsin-Rock County professor and Fort Atkinson sculptor Mark Dziewior.

But fate also may have played a part in his latest work, which when finished will be a 37-inch-tall sculpture of a Vietnam War era combat dog. It is the signature piece of a new K-9 memorial that will be unveiled during a June 25 ceremony in Fort Atkinson.
