The Tuesday hike report by Andy Whitney: Jake called me around 3 p.m.  on Tuesday to let me know he was sick and would not be able to lead the Tuesday night hike.

The Tuesday hike report by Jake Gerlach: When I arrived at the parking lot there was about 2 inches of snow covering the lot; it had not been plowed. Still, five veteran hikers and one canine showed up for what turned out to be a delightful hike. The temperature had been just above freezing for most of the day. After a brief discussion all of us thought that any type of ice gear would just cause the snow to clump on the ice gear. There was no real problem going with just our hiking boots.

The Tuesday hike report by Jake Gerlach: Tuesday evening was beautiful with the temperature near 58 degrees and sunshine. We were happy to see Hannah return after several years absent as well as Bob, a new hiker.

The Tuesday Hike report by Jake Gerlach: It had been raining most of the day and a lot of snow had been melting, so I was not sure anyone would show up for the hike. When I arrived at the parking lot, Ed already was there. At 4 p.m. the two of us headed out to go around Lake LaGrange in a counterclockwise direction.

The Tuesday hike report by Jake Gerlach: On a week after a lot of snow, seven people showed up for the Tuesday evening hike. There were four regulars supplemented by three hikers who are regulars on the Wednesday long hike.

The Tuesday hike report by Jake Gerlach: Ten people showed up for the hike Tuesday including Max, a new hiker from Clinton.

The Tuesday hike report by Andy Whitney: The fear of bad road condition must have kept some of the regular Tuesday afternoon hikers from coming out. I stayed on the main roads for a nice ride into the parking lot which had 5 inches of snow on it. Three hikers and I started out from the parking lot, walking clockwise around Lake LaGrange.

The Tuesday Hike report by Jake Gerlach: This week we had a break in the weather and eight hikers showed up for our Tuesday hike. We started out on the connector trail and then turned left on the Ice Age Trail for our hike around Lake LaGrange. There was quite a bit of snow where the connector trail went through the woods. When we were in the open, the trail was often bare and muddy. At Ruth’s Point we caught a nice view of the setting sun and we noticed two fishermen way out on the lake.

The Tuesday hike report by Jake Gerlach: Six brave hikers showed up for the Tuesday hike. The temperature was in the single digits and there was a strong west wind. Because of the wind I decided to try to walk in the woods. That worked well except for one short section at the finish.

The Tuesday Hike report by Jake Gerlach: On a bitterly cold day four hikers showed up for the hike. The temperature was about 7 degrees at the start of the hike and about 3 degrees at the end. Because of the wind chill, I selected a slightly shorter route along the subdivision trails and the horse trails. The hike was a little over 2 1/2 miles in wooded areas.
