These types of ads not only encourage tobacco users to quit, but also help educate youth about the dangers of smoking and assist them in talking to someone they love about quitting. These are powerful ads that are important to the health of our communities and are important to continue.
I have lost many family members and loved ones to tobacco and wish they could have seen these ads; it may have given me more loving years with them. Annually tobacco takes more than 7,000 Wisconsin lives and these powerful ads may help us in reducing this toll.
Free help is available in Wisconsin by calling the Wisconsin Tobacco Quit Line at 800-QUIT NOW. You also can learn more about local efforts by going to rcy2y.com or like us on facebook at Youth2Youth.
