There is “snow much” fun to be had at parks in our community, such as sledding at Ardon, Riverside, Lustig, or North East Regional; snowshoeing at the arboretum, and cross-country skiing at Rockport Park. If you don’t have equipment to ski or snowshoe, the City of Janesville Recreation Division has you covered. Our rental program is an opportunity to try before buying.
In addition to outdoor activities, the ice arena and senior center are hopping with activity. No need to head south; the senior center offers individuals age 50-plus opportunities for socialization and recreation through card and music groups, line dancing and more. The ice arena offers public skate times for families to enjoy.
While winter is fun, it doesn’t last forever. Watch for the recreation division spring/summer activity guide mailed to residents in late March. This guide provides a wealth of information on special events, youth day camps, public swimming, swim lessons and more. The recreation division staff has been working hard planning new activities, including a children’s triathlon, Kids to Parks Day and more.
Come play in your backyard — the beautiful city parks — all year round.
