With Thanksgiving already in the rearview mirror, Christmas activities are shifting into full gear in many area communities.

  • Burlington
    Christmas parade at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in downtown Burlington. Followed by tree lighting in Wehmhoff Square Park

    I’m Dreaming of a Whitewater Christmas runs from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, in downtown Whitewater. Includes a visit from Santa, children’s stories and a winter market. Bonfire at 5:30 p.m. at Main and First streets, parade at 6 p.m.

    Santa Train leaves the Elegant Farmer, 1545 Main St., Mukwonago, at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, and arrives at 6:30 p.m. at Village Square Park in East Troy. The lighted four-car train makes four brief stops along with way, with viewing possible along County Highway ES between Mukwonago and East Troy. Activities start at 6 p.m. at the park, including sing-along, crafts, holiday marketplace, tree lighting, photos with Santa and more. easttroy.org

    Midnight Magic festival runs from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. in the village, including an indoor market, dog sled pulls, horse-drawn carriage rides and fireworks.
