Women’s group lends support

Written by  Staff Writer

To the editor,
A few weeks ago friends and I attended the meet-and-greet for the Modern Widows Club at the Janesville Woman’s Club. Some of us were widows and some were not and the point of the meeting was to hear about the mission of the club from its founder, Carolyn Moor. Each of us were warmly greeted and immediately made to feel at home.

“I do not remember a time when I felt more welcomed into a gathering of people I didn’t know,” one of my friends enthusiastically shared.

This meeting was uplifting and life affirming. Although Moor could only join us via video due to the hurricane, she has made plans to come to our area in the spring. I would encourage anyone, and especially widows, to attend the next public meeting of the Modern Widows Club to share in the life support that this wonderful group of women has to offer.
