We must have limits on the purchase of large quantities of guns and ammunition. The Las Vegas shooter was able to purchase 33 guns and large amounts of ammunition within one year. In fact, the shooter purchased more guns and ammunition than a small police department would ever purchase. We need a tracking system to flag large individual gun purchases. If we see a pattern of an individual buying and stockpiling guns and ammunition, the local police department should investigate.
John Q Public does not need the ability to purchase “bump stocks” — which convert a semi-automatic gun into a deadly automatic weapon. No one needs a magazine that holds 30 rounds of bullets. We need to limit the purchase of large quantities of ammunition.
The Constitution allows us to bear arms. But we desperately need some limitations.
Lastly, Congress must pass reasonable gun laws to prevent the Las Vegas tragedy from ever happening again.
