Police chief to discuss body cameras at community meeting

Written by

BELOIT COLLEGE -- Body cameras are coming to the Beloit police force, and Chief David Zibolski will present the details during a public meeting tonight, March 1, 2017, at Beloit College.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Richardson Auditorium, 700 College St., on campus.

Community leaders will meet with the student community to have a conversation on body-worn cameras as part of the department's community policing strategy.

The Beloit Police Department will be implementing body worn cameras later this year. Zibolski will be presenting information on the capabilities, limitations, privacy concerns and department policy considerations.

Types of equipment regarding body worn cameras will be on display.

The public is welcome, but keep in mind seating is limited.
