South Beloit students collect more than 10,000 items for charities

South Beloit School District students collected more than 10,000 food items in a recent district-wide food drive. On Monday, Nov. 21, 2016 South Beloit High School student council members collected and delivered the food to various local charities and food pantries, including The Salvation Army in Beloit, Caritas in Beloit, Old Stone Church in Rockton, and Life Church in Roscoe. The students from the five South Beloit schools were challenged to collect 7,500 cans and they met the goal and were rewarded with an early dismissal on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016.
