Rough landing injures skydiver

Written by  CSI Media news staff

TOWN OF TURTLE -- An apparent hard landing sent a Rock County man to the hospital last Sunday, Sept. 20, 2015, in a skydiving accident at the Beloit Airport.

He was taken to an area hospital by a Beloit Fire Department ambulance, said Capt. Scott Fisher told the Gazette. “His parachute worked fine,” he said.

Jason Rowland, Town of Turtle Fire Department captain, said the man “suffered non life-threatening injuries.”

The accident was reported to the Rock County Communications 911 Center at 4:29 p.m. Sunday at the airport, 4046 E. Highway 67, in the town of Turtle, the supervisor said.

Upon arrival, Rowland said, “The individual was lying on the ground and complaining of back pain.”

Neither fire department spokesmen would identify the man, citing patient privacy regulations.
