DELAVAN -- The Delavan-Darien School District Board of Education is seeking two interested community members to serve on the school board as appointees.

Applicants must reside within district boundaries in either the Town of Delavan or in the towns of Sugar Creek, Richmond, Darien or Bradford. The appointed seats will be up for election in April 2012.

Interested persons must submit a letter of interest that includes statements about what qualities the candidate will bring to the board, the issues the candidate believes the district is facing and how the candidate proposes to address those issues. The Board of Education will review the letters to determine who will be interviewed.

Letters must be received by 3 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, and should be mailed to “Board Vacancy,” 324 Beloit St., Delavan, WI  53115. They can also be brought to the School Administration Center at that same address.

The vacancies were created by the Sept. 27 resignation of Board Member Carol Murphy and the Oct. 11 resignation of Joey Torkelson.

For questions, call 262-728-2642 and speak to Administrative Assistant Karen Logterman at Ext. 4801, or Community Relations Coordinator Mike Heine at Ext. 4813.
