LAKE GENEVA -- Authorities in Maryland said today they have found the body of a Lake Geneva man who was last seen more than a week ago.

James Wilson, 75, apparently died from exposure after his minivan became stuck in the woods in western Maryland's Green Ridge State Forest.

Wilson left his home on Nov. 11 for Delaware, but failed to arrive at his destination the next day, police said. The Lake Geneva Police Department on Thursday put out a missing persons bulletin.

The Associated Press reported that Wilson's body was found in a steep ravine about three-quarters of a mile from his disabled vehicle.

More from the Cumberland Times-News.

DELAVAN — It’s all about breaking down barriers, whether they’re social, cultural, economic or linguistic. And in most cases, it involves all of the above.

American Field Service, or AFS, provides intercultural and international learning opportunities for students, families, schools and communities. And in turn, the organization’s hope is that the positive strides made in communication and better understanding at the local level will help create a more just and peaceful world.

That’s quite a goal, but every year more than 13,000 individuals in 40 countries participate in volunteer-based AFS programs.

And that applies to schools in Walworth County, including the Delavan-Darien School District, which boasts one of the oldest foreign exchange efforts in the area and the state of Wisconsin.

WHITEWATER -- Supporters of Gov. Scott Walker are expected to face off with opponents Thursday at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater during a counter rally to Occupy Whitewater. The UW-Whitewater College Republicans are sponsoring their counter rally to show that university students stand with Walker.

“For too long conservatives have ignored college campuses and allowed one point of view to dominate. No longer on our campus. In a peaceful, respectful, clear and concise way we will show our solidarity with Governor Walker and conservative reforms,” read a posting on the group’s Facebook page.

The counter rally is planned to run from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on the South Library Mall, just off Main Street, in front of the Anderson Library.

The Occupy Whitewater event is being organized by three students groups and plans include two days of rallies and education.

Organizers expected state Sen. Jon Erpenbach, Rep. Peter Barca and Rep. Andy Jorgenson to speak.

The American Dream movement, along with three UW-Whitewater student groups, including Forward Whitewater, the Peace Group and the College Dems, were sponsoring the event on the UW-Whitewater’s South Library Mall. Organizers were hoping for a significant number of campers to stay overnight.

The rally will begin at 5:15 p.m. on Library Mall with Jorgensen, Barca, and Erpenbach stopping by.

At 6:30 p.m. students will march as a group to Hyland Hall's Timmerman Auditorium where Erpenbach will be speaking at 7 p.m.
