GREEN BAY -- The excitement of making it to the state tournament for the second time in three years, quickly waned Friday as the Milton girls found themselves in a 36-9 hole by halftime.

The Red Hawk's couldn't recover, falling 31-35 to Green Bay Notre Dame de la Baie Academy  in their Division 3 semifinal game.

Already leading at the end of the first period 17-7, the Tritons dominated the second quarter, outscoring the Red Hawks 19-2 in the period to lead 36-9 at the half. The Triton defense held the Red Hawks to 2-of-21 shooting in the half and forced eight turnovers.

The Tritons continued to impose its will in the second half, building a 34-point cushion in the third quarter and as much as a 39-point advantage in the fourth quarter before the Red Hawks closed the gap when the result was no longer in doubt.

The Tritons’ balanced scoring attack was led by Allison LeClaire with 14 points. Eliza Campbell and Brianna Byrne chipped in with 13 and 12 points, respectively. Milton was led by Elizabeth Westrick’s 16 points.
