Update: Lake Geneva police find missing teen PDF Print E-mail

LAKE GENEVA -- UPDATE: Lake Geneva police said a 13-year-old girl for whom an Amber Alert was issued earlier in the day has been found at an Elkhorn motel, and the alert was canceled.

A police spokesman said at about 7:55 p.m. that preliminarily, she appears to be unharmed.

More information will be released later, the spokesman said.

A Facebook group was launched to help in the search.

Police are searching for a Lake Geneva 13-year-old who was last seen Sunday afternoon.

Courtney Joy Harshman was was last seen about 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18 walking in the area of Kendall Lane in the city of Lake Geneva.

Officials have issued an Amber Alert and say Harshman may be with a Nebraska man they identify as Jacob Cambridge. Authorities say they may be traveling in a white Honda coupe with Nebraska license plate RUU-652.

Lake Geneva Police told WTMJ that the girl may have met Cambridge online through Skype. He then may have taken her to Nebraska. The FBI also has been called in to assist.

Harshman was wearing black jeans, a blue in color Superman T-shirt, a long black winter coat and black boots. Harshman also was wearing glasses.

Harshman weighs 98 pounds, is 5’3”, and has shoulder length brown hair and blue eyes.

Family members have been distributing posters throughout the city with Harshman's photo and description.
