WHITEWATER — The musical group Frigg opens the season at the University of Wisconsin-Whiteewater. Hot fiddles from cool Scandinavia is the first stop on this annual tour of World Music that will kick off each new season at the auditorium. Frigg is at the crest of a new wave of Finnish fiddle music. In a recent U.S. tour, when Frigg appeared on Garrison Keillor’s radio show “A Prairie Home Companion,” the studio audience begged for an encore. Young auditorium audiences will be rolling on the floor with laughter with N*W*C*: The Race Show. Three men of different ethnicities who have created a hilarious hip-hop send-up of their personal struggle to craft an assured personal identity while living in America’s middle class culture. On Saturday, Oct. 1, at 7:30 p.m. take a musical journey through the ’60s with Jim Witter as he performs Feelin’ Groovy — the music of Simon and Garfunkel. Tickets available at (262) 472-2222 or go to www.uww.edu/youngauditorium. (For the complete schedule, see the e-edition HERE.)
