A power line project would bring a 138,000-volt line and a new substation in southern Walworth County under a nearly $81 million project by American Transmission Co., according to a story in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

The Spring Valley-North Lake Geneva Electric Reliability Project is designed to strengthen the electrical system to meet a growing use of electricity, ATC said. The power line would stretch about 25 miles in Walworth and Kenosha counties.

ATC wants to file an application next year.

An open house on the project is scheduled for 3 to 7 p.m. Tues., Jan. 29 at Hawk’s View Golf Club, 7377 Krueger Road, Lake Geneva.
